Sweatsuit Glam
I’ve vowed to up my game this year and not make the school run in my rattiest sweats. It’s my daughter’s senior year and my last chance to convince her teacher that I’m more than a deranged writer who doesn’t know how to brush her hair. Why does her teacher know anything about me, you ask? My daughter has special needs and I walk her into class every morning so she doesn’t make a run for freedom and find a more interesting way to spend her day. Which means not only do I get a daily view of high school life but a stark reminder that no matter how much tech they have access to, they are still insecure.
Alright, enough about that…on to the school run style upgrade. This sweatsuit feels a little more stylish and has the added benefit of being super comfy and holding its shape, which I love. The black Yankees hat will hide all my sins while supporting my favorite team. (And don’t come for me, my father loved the Yankees so my loyalty is steadfast.) I’m a big fan of aviator sunglasses and these are sure to make us all look a little more glam as we drop off our progeny. And last but not least, the all important coffee mug. This one fits in the cup holder and keeps java warm even if you add a Target run. Let me know what you think and if you’ve got any back to school hacks, I’d love to hear them.

No hack to school comment but I happened to read your blog the day after seeing Sam Smith in concert. Latched is my favorite Smith song and my favorite Hart playlist. That evening, I started rereading from Birdie forward. I’m now reminded why you’re one of my top two favorite authors. ❤️ Good luck to your progeny (and Mom) on the new school year. Memories…
Thank you so much. Your note means the world to me. xoxoxo
